The combination of the most renowned technological development with the biggest problem facing the planet today is certainly an issue that in itself arouses interest and inevitably creates hopes for the improvement of the situation.
Artificial Intelligence as a result of sub-technologies such as Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning has now made its first appearance in water management applications. Before we go on, it is essential to clarify that we are not referring to the extensive use of the term Analytics in applications of data measuring instruments or their complementary sensors. The field of Data Analytics is not about hardware, but software. Especially in water management, in the field of hardware, huge steps have been taken in recent years compering to software which - with the exception of the last two years - has remained in the fields of information collection and visualization platforms.
